PRIMIS in Practice
PRIMIS in Practice is an exclusive, one-day training session offered to primary care organisations. The training is designed to introduce GP practice staff to the principles and practice of data quality and information management.
The training was previously offered as part of a centrally funded training programme by the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC). Building on the success of this initiative, which resulted in over 1,500 GP practice staff benefiting from our training, PRIMIS is delighted to be able to continue to offer this unique training opportunity to primary care organisations.
Primary care organisations arrange for a PRIMIS Learning Consultant to deliver two training sessions for GP practice staff across the one-day. We suggest that PRIMIS information facilitators, or persons in a similar role, are well placed to identify and invite staff who will benefit most from the training. The day’s training starts with a brief overview of the PRIMIS service and details of the local support available. Primary care organisations can select two of the following subjects to be delivered on the day:
- Quality Coding (Read Version 2)
- Quality Coding (Clinical Terms Version 3)
- Quality Data, Quality Outcomes
- Information Governance and the Patient Health Record
- Clinical Audit Made Easy Using PRIMIS Tools
The day is organised and coordinated by the primary care organisation. The training is delivered by a PRIMIS Learning Consultant.
